About this Tournament - About this Tournament - The DREAM for Kids Foundation and Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County is proud to present the 2nd Annual North County vs. South County Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament and Casino Party - Saturday, February 9th, 2008. Proceeds from this tax-deductible fundraiser will benefit disadvantaged children here on the Central Coast. All new for this year's tournament are sit 'n go games and bounties!

This year's tournament director will be Patrick Glines. Mr. Glines is owner of Rose’s Poker Parties and has been involved in the inner-workings of the casino industry for over 10 years, spending the last 5 almost exclusively with poker. His penchant for the intricate and technical aspects of poker applies it to the design and execution makes him an ideal tournament crafter and director. He is a member of the Poker Tournament Directors Association, working to make tournament rules universal amongst casinos. Patrick strives to make sure that fairness prevails in his events, and in his dispute resolution decisions. Patrick is also a student of the game, spending most of his time on no-limit hold 'em cash games, or pot-limit Omaha tournaments.

A note from last year's winner.

I just wanted to take a second to commend you and your crew on a great poker tournament and fundraiser. I had a great time both at the McClintocks qualifier and at the final event out at the airport. Your group did an awesome job decorating and had a great evening planned. As you know, I was fortunate enough to win the tournament and can’t wait to use the first place prize! I’m certainly looking forward to the bigger and better 2nd annual event! I think the bounties are a great idea and will really make the tournament a lot more fun! I’ll be wearing my bounty badge proudly while defending my title and South County!! I love that we get to have so much fun while raising thousands of dollars for Dream For Kids and now Big Brothers and Big Sisters, what a great way to spend an evening. Thanks again to your and all the other volunteers that make such a great event possible.
